Okontoe Fellowship is a nonprofit retreat and campground ministry located off the Gunflint Trail near Grand Marais, Minnesota.
Surrounded by the beauty of Bow Lake and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, Okontoe provides space for rest, renewal and community.
We are looking for individuals or couples who feel called to serve in one of our key roles:
- Executive Director—Providing leadership, vision and oversight for the ministry.
- Property Manager—Stewarding the land, facilities and hospitality of Okontoe.
- Campground Host(s)—Offering a welcoming presence to campers and assisting with daily campground life.
Each of these roles is vital to the ongoing mission of Okontoe Fellowship.
Whether through administration, property care or direct hospitality, every position helps create a safe and welcoming environment for guests and visitors.
Flexible Opportunities
We understand that people bring different skills, availability and life circumstances. For the right candidates, we are flexible in how these roles may be filled:
- Seasonal—Serving during the open season or for a set period of time.
- Hybrid—Balancing service at Okontoe with other work or commitments.
- Full-Time—Committing year-round to the ministry and property.
Our goal is to match the needs of Okontoe with the strengths and availability of those who serve.
Work Schedule and Benefits
- Depending on the position, the work schedule may be seasonal, hybrid or full-time depending on the candidate’s availability and skill set.
- Housing can be provided if needed.
- Campground Hosts receive a free campsite during their service.
- Compensation for certain roles may be based on funds raised to support operational costs.

For Campground Host application, you have a few options to submit:
- Download, print it and fill it out by hand. Mail to: Campground Host App, 15150 Iguana St, Ramsey MN 55303
- Mac users: Download the PDF and open in Preview. Click “Form Filling” icon on the top right. Fill out, save and email to: okontoedirector@gmail.com
- Everyone else #1: Download the PDF, then import it into Sejda. Fill it out, download the completed application and email to: okontoedirector@gmail.com
